Martin’s Blog 25th June

An entertaining few days and fabulous to host the Foxtrot Racing Syndicate Summer Picnic on Thursday night and the weather gods were kind to us too as, after a super week, it looked on Wednesday as if a storm was coming in on Thursday evening! So lovely to welcome familiar and less familiar faces and it looked as if a good time was had by all – we certainly enjoyed it anyway! Ernie did a super job parading their three horses – Witness Protection, Rolling Clouds and Pay The Woman and afterwards quite a few people came across to watch Witness & Clouds turned back out in their paddock a few fields away. A really fun evening.

Foxtrot Members watching their horses parade

Some of the picnics wouldn’t have looked out of place at Royal Ascot!

Mr Mafia was a late night gatecrasher!

This morning we welcomed nearly 30 members of The Cotswold Lockdowners who own Herecomeshogan and it was a very entertaining morning. Some members were early enough to watch some horses cantering 1st lot too but all enjoyed watching Hogan work 2nd lot and we thoroughly enjoyed seeing them all. Hogan certainly knew he was the star of the show!

Thanks to Linda Swain for the photo.

Andrew Page was in yesterday to visit Mozzaro who is in the field recovering from an injury and very pleased to be turned out after a period of box rest. This morning Lindsey Morgan was in to see her mare Windy Cove who probably runs on the flat on Tuesday and is in good form.
