Martin’s Blog 25th January

Thick fog again today but a lot milder. Alex Steedman in for a couple of lots in his quest to get race sharp for the York Macmillan Best Western Hotels Charity Race he is in against Belinda in June. Lots of banter between the two of them … going to be a fun journey this one!

Two runners at Ludlow. I’m looking forward to Ballymountain Boy running over hurdles. He will want further but I think Ludlow isn’t as sharp as some people think as they get racing far enough from home and although he’ll be better over further I’m hopeful of a big run today.

Viking Mistress went up 3lbs yesterday for her 2nd last week so is reappearing quickly 3lb well in and Ash Hark works hard in the yard so deserves the ride. Hopefully she should go close and give Ash and the Martin Keighley Racing Club another good run.

Yesterday was my father Trevor’s 70th Birthday so a big happy birthday to him – don’t worry I didn’t forget but I did forget to put it on the Blog!!
