Jo Stainer and Jon Hughes were in yesterday to watch the horses work. We worked Solstice Star, Cottersrock, Cup of Ambition, Brillare Momento, Notnowcato Gelding, Cul De Poule, Oscar World, Young Phoenix, Thady Quil, Chequered View, Fairmount, Twentyoneblackjack, Lerichi Belle, Ocean Eleven, Whatalove, Enforcement and Miss Condi.
A special mother/son moment too as Belinda cantered Ballymountain Boy up the grass with Freddie and his pony Bubbles in hot pursuit!
Richard East brought some friends in late morning to see Solstice Star. He then needed to rush home to prepare supper for a dinner party we were invited to – delicious food and much fun was had by all.
Yesterday Racing Club Member Pete Wilson was here taking photographs of the horses to update our website. He has the patience of a saint as it’s always quite a stressful time asking fit racehorses to stand still in a certain way! Belinda was very grateful for all Pete’s help and we are working through the shots and they will be up on the site soon.
Two runners at Uttoxeter today. Brass Monkey has really pleased me at home and has dropped to an attractive mark again and we’d be delighted if we have got him back on track. Ballymountain Boy reappears after a summer break – he was our first winner of the new season and, with his owners sharing colours each season, he runs today in sponsor Ross Hemming’s colours for the first time so let’s hope they bring him some luck. He’ll come on for the run but I’m still very hopeful he’ll do himself justice today as he’s also really pleasing me in his work at home.
