Martin’s Blog 24th January

A busy morning with Lucy and Jeremy Blackburn, who are based with Anthony Honeyball, in to visit with Paul Davis and also Kate & Jonathan Allen plus Zoe & Ed Chamberlayne in for a morning on the gallops with a champagne breakfast – an auction winning prize. We were therefore guaranteed a fun packed morning and so it has turned out to be although I’m having to leave Belinda and Paul in charge as I head to Huntingdon.

Be Thankful makes her hurdling debut after a fruitless journey to Doncaster where the ground was far too soft so I didn’t run her. She has done plenty of schooling at home and represents the Racing Club and so we’ll know more about her after today. It’s a hot little race.

Dreamsundermyfeet runs in the bumper and whilst I don’t think he is the type of horse we will win a bumper with, he needs the experience before going hurdling. It’s a competitive bumper but we hope he’ll enjoy it and gallop all the way to the line. Patrick Cowley rides them both.

My parents are on their way down from Yorkshire and we are off out to supper tonight to celebrate my father’s birthday so happy birthday Dad!
