Martin’s Blog 23rd March

Mild here this morning and work morning. Warren Marston and Mark Caswell in to work. We worked Mr Mafia, Ballymountain Boy, Raving Bonkers, Reve, Buckle Street, Young Phoenix, Pirate Look Morning Herald, Hartshorne Abbie, Cut and Run, Pomme De Nuit, Enforcement, Cup of Ambition, Dr Dunraven, Back on the Lash, Presenting youngster, Chequered View, Ask Alice, Madame Fiona, Lady Vitesse. All the rest either did a swinging canter or just cantered.

Mick Coulson was in to watch Lady Vitesse and yesterday James Fairrie was in to see Dr Dunraven and have a catch up. Always lovely to see owners in to watch their horses.

Today we have two runners at Newbury. Solstice Star is in good form but still looks to be in the grips of the handicapper although the ground will suit and he looks great. Tom Bellamy rides. Somewhere To Be runs in the Novices Handicap Chase under Aidan Coleman and is in great form. It’s further than he has run over before but he was going better the further he went when he won last time at Catterick so I think it should suit him.
