The last day of summer? Certainly a stunning day here but, dare I say it, welcome promise of rain later on in the week and I’m hoping to be back schooling on our grass schooling ground.
Work morning and good to see Matthew Harrison and Paul Davis in to watch. Warren Marston and James Best both in and we worked Back on the Lash, Reve, Capricia, Mozzaro, Ben Buie, Black Panther, Dreamsundermyfeet, Solstice Star, Cotswold Prince and Chris Dee was in to ride work on Eclat Des Mottes which she loved. We also worked Miss Antipova, Debden Bank, City Never Sleeps and Lord Condi. All the rest cantered.
On Sunday Enforcement gave the Racing Club Members more enjoyment jumping for fun over fences at Plumpton despite being so small and it looking a real effort for him to jump them! Richard Johnson got a great tune out of him and he ran a blinder to finish 3rd (at least not another 2nd I hear you say!). He’s a super horse for the club and members Bernie & Nikki Cox and Mick O’Gorman had a fun day. Frustrating times for all owners but those managing to get to the races are generally enjoying themselves with the racecourses more often than not doing all they can to make it a good experience.
Today we head to Warwick with Mr Mafia and with Richard Johnson in the saddle once again. His form figures read 114122 when partnered with Richard and wouldn’t it be great to have another 1 at the end of that?! He’s in really good order so we’ll see. Obviously very biased here but he deserves to get his head in front again soon!
