Martin’s Blog 22nd June

We had a lovely day at Royal Ascot on Tuesday and thanks to everyone who visited our picnic in the Car Park both before and after racing, a fun time was had by all. Thanks to Sam Wallin of Cotswold Canapes for once again doing a superb job – delicious. As expected, great racing too and thanks also to owner Rick Allen and his family for kindly inviting us to their Box – very welcome shade on such a hot day.

The Kvilleken at Stratford was travelling and jumping well until a mistake finished his chances although he did get going again to finish a staying on 6th. He does need everything to fall in his lap but will surely have his day again and continues to give our Racing Club plenty of fun.

No runners yesterday but as it was such a hot day I decided to organise a BBQ for the whole team. It was a fun evening on the longest day of the year and a chance to thank them for all their hard work. A few local owners joined us too and it was a fantastic opportunity for everyone to catch up and it looked like a good time was had by all.

Jazzy at Chelmsford today and whilst he’s the outsider of the field I wouldn’t be surprised if he ran a decent race at a big price. He seems well at home and should like the trip.

Owner John Gent in this morning to discuss Lerichi Belle’s options and sponsor Belinda too so thanks for that John. Her total for Macmillan Cancer Support is heading towards £27,000 – amazing.
