Martin’s Blog 22nd February

Windy but no rain this morning and a few working including Beneagles, Capital Force, Mozzaro, Kazontherazz. Those that worked yesterday just cantered today.

Warren Marston, Harry Greasby, Mark Caswell and Abbie Myers in to ride out as well as Lily Pinchin who was in to school City Never Sleeps. Patrick Cowley schooled Be Thankful.

A morning on the gallops with breakfast for Ross and Elaine Burbidge and Ross’s mother too. Part of a prize won at our Open Day in the autumn where they were owners for the day of Enforcement at Plumpton. They seemed to have a great morning too.

One runner today at Kempton Park in the first race. Eclat Des Mottes makes his debut for us having been purchased at the Sales out of Willie Mullins’ yard. An ex-Ricci owned gelding, he seems to have thrived so far from being in a smaller yard and today is a fact finding mission. Jonathan Burke rides and puts his 100% strike rate on the line – just one from one as he won on Back on the Lash for us at Cheltenham! Eclat is owned by a fantastic group of owners so it would be great if we could have some fun with him.

Earlier in the week I was thrilled with Samtara’s run at Ludlow for 4th on his handicap debut under Patrick Cowley. He jumped well and showed a good attitude. Debden Bank jumped well on his chasing debut and now needs to build on that probably on better ground as it was hard work at Ludlow.
