Busy with visitors since Cheltenham although Monday took Belinda and I up to Yorkshire to the funeral of her Aunty Pam, her mother’s older sister. A wonderful celebration of her life and great to catch up with family there too – sadly all too infrequent although those from a farming background understand the similar 24/7 lifestyle we lead.
Snow again over the weekend and still hasn’t quite gone. A tough winter for my team and they have once again carried on as usual showing once again what a fantastic hard working team they are. It was our Assistant Trainer Foxy’s birthday yesterday so crispy creme doughnuts all round – I get the feeling he’s as excited about his birthdays as I am though….! Happy Birthday Foxy!
David Robinson called in yesterday for a catch up and for some administration help from Belinda and she was, as always, happy to oblige. Plenty of coffee on offer too – always good to see David. Jon Hughes here fresh (or not so!) from a holiday in the US and Cheltenham, with our Bookkeeper Carole, for a monthly financial catch up and lots of plans hatched – now to carry them out!
Ben Brain here yesterday to overground scope some and check others. Always so informative having Ben here especially watching the results afterwards on the computer of the overground scope – fascinating. He’s pretty entertaining too! Very worthwhile and two horses in for minor procedures yesterday afternoon.
Maggie Turner, one of our physios, in today and the sun is out – what a lovely change!
No runners this week as too wet for those entered up. So many ready to run so we could do with it drying up – as I’m sure so many other Trainers and Owners could. Horses looking fantastic in the sunshine.
