Martin’s Blog 21st August

We’ve returned from a fabulous week in Salcombe where we managed to relax and have some essential family time whilst still keeping in touch with the team at home too and Belinda celebrated a birthday as well where we ate, as usual, at The Crab Shed (which she booked last year to ensure we got a table!).

We love it there as a family and it was also great to meet up with lots of familiar faces too including great friend Chris Dee and also Simon Claisse & Bells England who are usually there for the same week as it was also Simon’s birthday too. Plenty of Paddle Boarding and fun on the beach plus far too much eating and drinking! A really lovely week.

Harry taking it easy as Freddie does all the work!

No runners whilst we were away but we are busy tomorrow, as long as the rain arrives, at Stratford with four runners. We have Codey Jones, Debden Bank, Forecast and Borderline and thanks to Finn Lambert, Harry Stock, Beth Whittle who, along with Belinda & Freddie, were in to ride this weeks’ runners out this morning.

Although they’ve had rain at the yard, and plenty of it one one evening by the sounds of it, everywhere is still so brown. As with so many places, we desperately need some rain.

Whilst away Big Nasty arrived and looks a picture – we are excited to be cracking on with him this season and hopefully having plenty more fun.
