Work morning and Andrew Tinkler in for a couple of lots. We worked Sarasota Star, Bay Dude, Cotswold Prince, Forecast, Cul De Poule, Ask Alice, Peeping Penny, Pomme De Nuit, Lord Condi and Dr Dunraven. All the rest cantered apart from our recent dual winner Mr Mafia, who may run on Monday, and he did a swinging canter and seems in great form.
Uttoxeter today with two mares. Lady Vitesse runs in a Mares’ Handicap Hurdle over 2m 4f and if she builds on her 3rd place last time out at Southwell then she could go close again in a competitive hurdle. Champion Jockey Richard Johnson rides her and also our other runner, Morning Herald.
Morning Herald is making her debut over fences in a Novices’ Handicap Chase over 2m 6f. She’s a lightly raced dual hurdle winner for us who hasn’t bounced back to her previous form after her year off with a leg injury. She’s not overly big but has schooled well at home. She does need to show us something today though otherwise she may well be retired to the paddocks where, with her breeding she should make a lovely broodmare. Let’s hope it’s not for a while though but she’ll tell us later today.
