A fabulous weekend of sport and what a match on Saturday night – why didn’t England play like that against Argentina?! Last night’s match not quite so exciting but great that Spain won.
No luck for us at Market Rasen on Saturday. Continuance ran a little flat and will now have a break before maybe returning on the flat before heading to Cheltenham’s October meeting. He rarely runs a bad race but Freddie reported he wasn’t himself yesterday so he looked after him when beat. Redbridge Rambler is a horse that needs most things to go his way and he simply didn’t have much luck in running being hampered and interfered with a few times. His jumping wasn’t quite as slick as usual and it just didn’t happen for him. He’s home in one piece though and trotted up sound yesterday morning so we’ll make another plan and go again.
Tomorrow we head to Salisbury with Happier for our Martin Keighley Racing Club giving our new stable Amateur Jockey, Harry Hoyles, a spin on the flat. Harry works really hard and deserves every chance he gets and, although it’s a bit further than ideal, he will ride a waiting race and we will see how she goes. He’s not eaten much for a week or so and so he deserves a good run and a good meal afterwards! There aren’t too many opportunities for Amateurs but we’ll get him going over obstacles as soon as we can too which will be a more workable weight for him. Good luck Harry and our Racing Club Members too.
