Martin’s Blog 20th February

Work morning and Warren Marston in to ride out. John and Claire Abernethy were in to watch Hartshorne Abbie and Mr Mafia in action. We also worked Enforcement, Ask Alice, Young Phoenix, Somewhere To Be, Richie Valentine, Cotswold Prince, Cut & Run, Weyburn, Ballymountain Boy, Gold Mountain, Pirate Look, Mister Valentine, Chequered View and Sugar Storm. The others did a swinging canter or just a canter. John Gent and Mike Anderson in to watch Lerichi Belle and Lady Vitesse.

Two runners yesterday. Lord Condi ran a solid race in a tactical bumper and gained valuable experience. The ground at Lingfield was as heavy as I’ve known it and whilst Sporty Yankee jumped well, he faded and is probably feeling the effects of a few recent runs. He’ll have a break now.

Ollie Garner from RSN Services Stow, was in early with a delivery of their Natural Flake Shavings and some haylage too. We get fabulous service from Ollie and his colleagues and they are not surprisingly much in demand.

Lots of birthdays today! Happy Birthday to Mary Cull, who is in our Racing Club and is an amazing help to us when we have visitors to the yard helping Belinda with any cooking or looking after guests. Also Happy Birthday to owner Mark Boothright and his girlfriend Elouise who share the same birthday!
