Martin’s Blog 20th August

Although we’ve not had much racing, it is all systems go here and therefore I must apologise for not managing to have time to do a blog for a few days – we all love being busy though so long may that continue!

Three runners at Southwell on Sunday where, once again, they’d done a super job on the ground. Capital Force ran another solid race to finish 3rd in what was a fair novice chase and we hope to find a race to get his head in front again soon.

Mr Mafia led for a long way back over hurdles under Richard Johnson but faded turning for home to finish 4th. He will probably head back over fences next but he’s giving us so much fun again this summer.

Bobble Emerald bounced back to form after a wind operation and with the fitting of visors, jumping slickly under Leighton Aspell finishing a very good 2nd. Great that this 11 year old is still thoroughly enjoying his racing.

This morning Tony Corcoran made his first visit to the yard to watch Foxtrot Racing’s Witness Protection working on the gallops under Harry Stock. There was one share left in this horse, I say “there was” as he sold himself to Tony this morning – as well as working well he was happy to stand for ages whilst Tony stroked and talked to him, a very sweet horse. Great to meet Tony and even better to have him as part of the team in such a well run syndciate.

Farrier Nick Partridge back in today after a week in Poland where he was with his family supporting eldest daughter Freya in action in the European Pony Three Day Eventing Trials. Freya has been bringing her pony up the gallops and we were thrilled to watch them win Team Gold and finish 4th individually – well done to Freya but a big well done to Nick & Lou too as they have put so much into helping her achieve such a fantastic result.
