Hope you all had a lovely Easter weekend … it went so fast although obviously life almost carries on as normal when you are looking after horses! Easter eggs for all the team though and much deserved.
We went to Paxford on Monday which was a lovely day and really good to catch up with lots of friends especially Jo Stainer whose partner Sue treated us to a superb picnic. Not many runners but no-one realised as I think everyone was just happy to be out in the sunshine eating & drinking! The car park was absolutely rammed full.
Easter Holidays continue and the boys are having plenty of fun playing football in the garden, riding their bikes and Freddie has been riding out two lots most days too.
Lots of horses still in and yesterday we worked plenty including Back on the Lash, Spanish Present, Dreamsundermyfeet, Pay The Woman, Kazontherazz, Brianna Rose, Mozzaro, Duke of Luckley, Western Safire, Capricia, Forecast, Reve, Windy Cove, Culverwell and Ten Past Midnight.
Dreamsundermyfeet has been declared to run on Friday night but will now be ridden by Rex Dingle as poor James Best had a heavy fall at Plumpton at the weekend and suffered a fractured jaw. He’s been a huge member of our team this season and ridden 15 winners for us and given us a lot of support so we wish him a very speedy recovery. Windy Cove also runs on Friday night but heads to Chepstow on and will be partnered by Lorcan Williams.
Jockey’s Agent supremo Dave Roberts to retire on Saturday – wow, will miss speaking to him on a regular basis. The man behind helping AP McCoy to 20 Championships and also Richard Johnson to 4 Championships. I’m not sure I know many that could have worked harder and we wish him a much deserved long and happy retirement.
