Martin’s Blog 1st September

August over and we head into the autumn with a definite change of weather although it’s still a fine day today – thicker rugs for the horses soon I’m sure. It’s even more stunning here than usual during the autumn watching the trees change colour and especially those at the bottom of our gallops – a mass of autumnal oranges and green – gorgeous.

Good luck to Kitty King as she show jumps today having passed the final trot up this morning on Vendredi Biats after a breathtaking cross country round yesterday. Her dressage was pretty smart too and the head into the show jumping in 10th place and a top 10 position would delight her.

I’m off to Worcester Racecourse where it’s Family Fun Day so sure to be packed. We run Witness Protection for Foxtrot Racing and have secured the services of the Champion Jockey Richard Johnson. He’s a lovely looking smart horse and he’s really pleased me at home so will hopefully run a solid race however we’ll not see the best of him until he goes hurdling over further.

Happy Birthday this weekend to Toby Elford, who is a great help to us and the brains behind our Newsletter amongst other things. Toby was having a pretty big party by the sounds of it so hope his head is feeling better by tomorrow!
