Martin’s Blog 1st February

Delighted with Somewhere To Be at Southwell yesterday where he jumped for fun and showed us again that he’s a chaser in the making. Aidan Coleman loved him and we were beaten by two very nice horses into 3rd place. He’s only still a big baby too and an understandably happy owner/breeder.

The Wexfordian ran a much improved race to finish 4th over hurdles. He gave Andrew Tinkler a much easier ride than last week but the ground found him out and he’ll improve again on better ground. A fun day with his owners Peter Boggis & John Abernathy.

Paul Keyte and Mike Hughes, part of the Martin Keighley Racing Club, were up this morning for a catch up and to watch Buckle Street and Viking Mistress on the gallops. Huge supporters of the yard and great to see them.

Late morning Ruth & Norman Nelmes and Jane & Bryan Davies came to take us out to lunch and have a good catch up too. The Hollow Bottom looked after us very well indeed as usual and it was fabulous to see them. We are so fortunate to have such wonderful owners and these guys definitely fall into that category!
