1st April already and like a spring day here this morning. Our Newsletter has been distributed this morning so do email us if you’d like to be put on the list to receive these newletters which are always full of plenty of information and possibly a joke or two!
The horses mostly worked yesterday so just a canter or a swinging canter for all today. Alfie Martindale was in this morning and Belinda also rode out a couple of lots – 11 weeks today is her raceday at York for Macmillan Cancer Support so it’s all systems go for then.
On that note a huge thank you to Dave & Diane at the Horse & Hound Pub at Broadway for hosting Belinda’s Charity Race Night last night and for feeding everyone so well. Also to organiser Graham Hollick who was the host with the most and ran the evening superbly and managed to encourage plenty to part with their money! Abi Stock helped Belinda on the Tote and was also fantastic and we’d like to thank so many friends for supporting Belinda and helping to raise an AWESOME £1003 and in doing so smashing her initial target of £5000. She’s absolutely thrilled but is now setting her sights on £10,000 and you can support her online if you wish www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Belinda-Keighley2017
Three runners at Stratford today. Viking Mistress runs for the Martin Keighley Racing Club and is in great form and will hopefully run into a place again. Ian Rawlings was in this morning with his daughter Evie and they are our newest members of the Club and I think there is only one space now left. As one of the members emailed last week to say it was the ‘best £500 they’d ever spent and they couldn’t believe they have 9 months left too’ do get in touch if you want to join in the fun.
We also run Leriche Belle who needs to build on her hurdling debut at Warwick and continue to settle better too and Bobble Emerald who should like the drying ground and will hopefully also run into a place.
