An early start for Chequered View as she headed off to Fakenham nearly four hours away. She won there on her chasing debut last season and has since won again over fences at Worcester in the summer. She’s a lovely mare, a homebred owned by HRH The Princess Royal, and although there are only 4 runners, it’s competitive but we obviously hope she’ll go very close. Matt Capp here this morning to see Robsam and Dreamsundermyfeet on the gallops and great to catch up with him. A first visit for quite a few years for Jeff Whitney too to see Black Prince – things have changed a lot since he was last here (and they continue to do so) and he was quite surprised. Fantastic to have Jeff and Ann as part of the team.
Chris Dee and David Bishop here late morning to meet with Paul Davis and chat through a new partnership – very exciting to have some of our most supportive owners in a group together. Lots discussed I’m sure.
