We had a fabulous night last night at The Hollow Bottom for Belinda’s biggest fundraising evening for her Macmillan Cancer Support Charity Race in June. With the help of pub landlords Charlie Pettigrew (whose food was as delicious as ever) & Hugh Kelly, who is an owner here too, the evening ran smoothly and Belinda’s favourite singer, Andrew James, was as brilliant as ever. We cannot recommend him more highly so do get in touch if you need a singer for any occasion.
Auctioneer Jo Stainer came out with plenty of hilarious one liners and got ensured the live auction was a huge success – thanks to the fabulous crowd that turned out to support Belinda and also were generous with their bids. A final late lot from Graham Hollick to see Kasabian in concert anywhere in Europe was snapped up by yard sponsor Ross Hemming. People have been so very generous with their auction prizes and with the addition of some great prizes on an online site which finished at 10pm last night the grand total for the evening has come in at £6015! We cannot thank you enough. Belinda’s total is heading quickly towards £15,000 from an initial target of £5,000….! Thank you all.
The boys sold raffle tickets and whilst sensible older brother Freddie took himself to bed (we stayed at the Hollow with exactly that in mind) crazy younger brother Harry stayed up longer than he should have done on a school night so we aren’t sure how he had the energy today to run a brilliant 4th in a local primary schools cross country event!
Harry Stock and Conor Shoemark in this morning and Mrs Lee-Warner called in to see how well her Bold Ellie is settling in here. Zara Tindall’s homebred mare Cut and Run, who arrived this week too, has also settled in well.
Ross Hemming here late morning looking far healthier than he should have been to discuss the plans we have for lots more improvements before the summer is out. Andrew Tinkler here too to assist in discussions. An exciting time.
