Cold and wet here this morning but much needed rain so mustn’t complain although not the nicest weather for the Team to work in and for visitors too.
David Bishop was here first lot to watch Bobble Emerald work – he’s nearing his debut after a year off through injury. He’s won his last two races and seems in good form and is a real favourite having been in the yard for quite a few years. David & I discussed race options and he’s as excited as I am. He’ll report back to his fellow owners Michael Parker and Colin Bowkley.
Mike & Mella Wright were here second lot and we had a great catch up with them. They stayed overnight at the Coach & Horses in Longborough and were not surprisingly looked after very well there. Always great to catch up with Mike & Mella and they watched the horses work and then went on to Max Comley’s yard as he has Twentyoneblackjack in training and he will make his pointing debut shortly.
No runners today so an afternoon watching racing and race planning.
Yesterday Chris & Jo Massey, after watching their mare on the gallops, treated us to a wonderful lunch at Kingham’s famous The Wild Rabbit Restaurant, part of Daylesford Farm. It was Chris’s birthday treat and we are so grateful to be included and we all certainly enjoyed it. I cannot recommend it more highly – it was absolutely delicious. We even bumped into Back on the Lash’s winning jockey’s wife there too!
