Mild here this morning and a new starter – Alice Smith has joined us to cover Alfie Jordan’s compulsory four weeks at the British Racing School so welcome to Alice and good luck to Alfie too. Hopefully Alice may stay with us after Alfie returns too – I know the idea of riding in a charity race seemed to appeal to her and we actively encourage the team to have a go at race riding in one way or another.
A quiet morning this morning and all horses just doing one or two quiet canters.
Two runners at Lingfield Park this afternoon. Lord Condi reappears in the bumper on the all weather as he wouldn’t handle the soft/heavy ground there is at the moment. He ran much greener than we expected on his racecourse debut so we hope he’s much more professional than that today and has an enjoyable experience. He’s a horse we have always liked a lot and he goes very well at home but he may be one that will take a little more time than others for it all to fall into place on a racecourse so today will be very interesting. Harry takes a valuable 7lbs off his back.
Sporty Yankee runs in the following Handicap Hurdle and he’s been running really well lately with quite a few placings so we hope he runs well again. Harry Stock gets on well with him so is on board again today.
Thanks for all the lovely messages after our day to forget on Saturday – racing is such a great family and it’s fantastic that we all seem to celebrate with each other in the good times yet are there for each other in the harder times. So much support and we mustn’t forget that – it’s a wonderful industry to be part of.
