Martin’s Blog 19th February

Storm Dennis seems to have passed and we have fortunately not been affected as much as some – the flooding in Hereford & Worcestershire looks awful so thoughts will all of those struggling.

We worked quite a few yesterday and Claire & John Abernethy were in to watch Capital Force and I’m really pleased with how he is going. Warren Marston in 1st lot and Harry Greasby in for three lots too.

This morning young Richard Cook, who is also on Half Term, was in to ride out 3 lots this morning and struggled to choose who his favourite was between Ten Past Midnight, Solstice Star or Run A Rig – three lovely horses to ride.

Off to Ludlow which has amazingly survived the weather and we have two runners. Patrick Cowley rides them both. Debden Bank makes his chasing debut and I’m hoping the switch to fences will bring about the improvement in him required. He’s not yet shown us on the track what we do at home and he’s jumped very well at home so let’s hope it does.

Samtara runs in the concluding hurdle and has been a bit harshly treated by the Handicapper I think but we’ll see and I’ll gladly eat my words!
