Martin’s Blog 18th October

The horses just cantered this morning although we took Finnick Glory and Ollie Ryan’s 4 year old Mahler Filly to Jon Trice-Rolph’s for schooling over poles, tyres and small hurdles. Zoe Stock came along to watch son Harry ride their own Finnick Glory and we were all thrilled with how she took to it all. In fact both had a superb attitude and the Mahler Filly also jumped very well under Amateur Paddy Berkins. A very worthwhile session.

Yesterday David Bishop, part owner of Bobble Emerald, brought two ‘Morning on the Gallops’ voucher winners, Terry & Mandy Poulson for a morning here. They watched the horses on both our circular carpet loop and also up our straight gallop and then enjoyed a selection of Janne Bishop cakes – and luckily she did too many so we have some too!

Jon Hughes here mid morning to meet with Deb Butler and afterwards with us – always so much planning to be done from race planning to business planning and all equally vital to ensuring that the horses are doing their best for their owners and the business is doing it’s best too.

Although we did manage to work on the grass gallop earlier this week, we don’t look like we are set for much rain in the next few days and it rapidly dries up again if no rain arrives. We’ve not got many entries and that’s how it will stay if the rain stays away.
