Martin’s Blog 18th October

Stunning morning here as the mist rose and the sun shone through the autumnal trees – beautiful.

Exeter bound today with Harry Atkins, our stable Amateur, riding Herecomeshogan for The Cotswold Lockdowners in the Handicap Hurdle for Amateur Riders. There aren’t that many opportunities for these kind of races unfortunately but Harry is a talented rider and deserves all the chances he can get. There will be an enthusiastic group of Cotswold Lockdowners at Exeter and a just as enthusiastic group in homes and workplaces shouting at tvs and phones! He should hopefully run another solid race before going on a well earnt holiday.

Mr Mafia needs no introduction and he runs in the valuable Best Mate Chase in the race after Hogan. There are only 4 runners and it is very competitive but he generally runs his race, gets on so well with Sean Bowen and seems very fresh and well at home so should run a blinder. He’s won 8 times over fences and he’s done us all proud.

Good luck to all connections today.
