Martin’s Blog 18th May

What a difference a day makes – today is stunning, a few clouds in the sky but glorious sunshine which was a welcome change especially as plenty of owners and friends in today.

Jon and Jack Hughes here all morning especially to watch the schooling on the grass after the torrential rain yesterday. We schooled Thady Quil, Viking Mistress, Somewhere To Be, Brass Monkey and Dr Dunraven.

Keith and Janet Salisbury in this morning to watch Viking Mistress, The Kvilleken (they are members of the Racing Club) and also the Elzaam 2 year old whom they have just bought into. Always great to see their smiley faces and they looked to thoroughly enjoy their morning.

We always enjoy new people joining us on the gallops and fantastic to have a new visitor today who we hope will bring his partnership (who sound a huge lot of fun!) to us – he couldn’t have chosen a better day to come as the yard and gallops sell themselves even better when the sun is shining.

A quick visit to Claire Hardwick’s this morning to check the horses she has on holiday, rehabilitation and pre-training with us and they all look fabulous. Well done to Claire who last night rode her 100th winner – fantastic feat and a credit to her and down to plenty of hard work.

Tonight is Belinda’s big fundraiser at The Hollow Bottom. Still a few tickets available but please do get in touch before you go so that we can let the Hollow know numbers for supper. It’s £20 a head including supper, music and a brilliant auction. Lots include Twickenham England Rugby tickets, Edgbaston England Cricket tickets, A flying Lesson, tickets to Olympia Horse Show and the sponsorship sites on Belinda’s colours and bottom too!!! Do get in touch if you aren’t going but are interested in any of these prizes as we can take bids from you. I hope she will raise plenty.
