Martin’s Blog 18th May

Two runners today at Southwell evening meeting. Lady Sutton’s homebred mare Bella Ciao runs in the bumper and we are sure she is better than her run first time out at Cheltenham last month. She was very professional in her behaviour then though and will hopefully behave well again today. Sean Bowen rides.

We then have Cut And Run representing our Racing Club in the 3 mile Hurdle under Finn Lambert who comes in regularly. He takes a valuable 7lbs off her back however she has something to prove now as it’s quite some time since she won. Congratulations to her breeder, Zara Tindall, won an advanced section at Chatsworth Horse Trials on her 13 year old Class Affair on Sunday which was also her birthday.

A mild day but always busy here with farrier Nick Partridge and also physio Hannah Ashton in this morning. Work morning yesterday so just cantering for those still in training today.

Good luck to the Southwell two later.
