Happier heads to Lingfield Park today following another win last week under Jack Doughty making it two from two in the last fortnight for Happier and Jack. We run her again today and, Toby Moore takes 7lbs off her back today to help with the 5lb penalty. We’ve known Toby since his days pony racing against Freddie and it’s great to be able to give him a ride. She seems fresh and well so will hopefully go close again today. She’s giving our Racing Club members lots of fun.
We spent the weekend in Salcombe to celebrate Belinda’s birthday and it was lovely to spend a day and a bit with the boys as it was Freddie’s Sunday off.
With jump racing back after the summer break we have our first jump runner tomorrow with Redbridge Rambler heading to Worcester with Freddie in the saddle for owner David Maughan.
As everywhere, we are desperate for rain with the fields all brown and no grass anywhere. We turn our horses out every day – overnight when it’s too warm in the day and are having to feed haylage in the fields already. Frustrating.
Happy Birthday too to our wonderful Head Lad Dan who celebrated (or rather tried to keep quiet!) his birthday yesterday!.
