Martin’s Blog 17th October

Unseasonably warm here today and no ill effects from the wind that has damaged other parts of Great Britain.

Work morning here and Warren Marston here and we worked Miss Condi, Whatalove, Native Ruler 3 year old, Somewhere To Be, Buckle Street, Solstice Star, My Lad Percy, Weyburn, Fairmount, Cottersrock, Bobble Emerald, Lerichi Belle, Mister Valentine, Bold Ellie, Getaway Filly and Pomme De Nuit. All the rest cantered.

Off to Worcester today as it hosts the fixture transferred from Hereford. Viking Mistress runs for the Martin Keighley Racing Club under Champion Jockey Richard Johnson in the Central Roofing & Building Services Mares’ Handicap Chase over 2m 4f. It is a massive step up in class for her and I don’t think she should be favourite. She’s not the easiest to train but seems in good form and the very enthusiastic Racing Club Members will certainly be giving her a good shout if she’s in a challenging position over the final couple of fences. Good luck to them all – they’ve had a wonderful first year in the Racing Club and if you fancy getting involved for just £500 a year then please do get in touch.
