Martin’s Blog 17th October

The rain arrived last night so after a weekend of me watering the schooling ground ahead of today’s intended schooling session, the ground was decent enough thankfully as it took a lot of hard work. I’m not sure we’d have schooled if the rain hadn’t arrived last night though as my final bowser load was applied.

Sean Bowen and James Best in to school with Harry Atkins and we schooled Spanish Present, Bella Ciao, Kalibrate, Rolling Clouds, Wide To West, Just A Deal, Miladygrace, Found On, Samtara, Kazontherazz, Big Nasty, Ben Buie, Duke of Luckley, Blazing Court, Lost In The Mist and Pattern Cutter.

Mary, John & Freja Thackray in to see Blazing Court and to surprise John that he is now the proud 1/4 shareholder in Blaze! He then got to watch him canter then school over hurdles under Sean Bowen so an exciting day.

Freja breaking the news to dad John that a quarter share in Blazing Court is his!

Kaitlyn had her Haddon Training Assessor here, Rachel Lander, to do her first session.

On Friday Jon Sancaster, Roger & Rosemary Sollis, David Bishop, Matt Capp, Carol Baker, Matthew Baker, Jack Rogers, Leigh & Sarah Powell and Paul Davis were all in to watch the horses on the gallops so a busy and fun morning.

A weekend with no runners but yesterday a fun lunch at Batsford Stud celebrating Alan Varey’s 70th Birthday. Happy Birthday Alan.
