Martin’s Blog 17th June

Another very wet weekend and the drive to Aintree and back on Friday night was dreadful – a 9 hour round trip which was frustrating. Capital Force jumped well and Richard Johnson still thought he was in with a big shout approaching 2 out but he made a noise and we will get wind surgeon Ben Brain to have a look. Apart from that he was A1 on Saturday.

Saturday was the Macmillan Day at York which raised a record amount of money again – £620,000. All eyes were on Abi Stock who has been riding out here and who raised well over £30,000, all in memory of her very special father Chris. Abi absolutely loved the day and enjoyed her ride although the sad postscript was that her horse, Good Tradition, owned by the family, broke down behind. So sad that what should have been such an amazing day for them all ended like that. Hopefully he’ll be ok but such bad luck.

The rain seems relentless and although we have plenty of entries this week, many are ground dependent. We have one runner tomorrow at Stratford – Enforcement.
