Martin’s Blog 16th November

A schooling morning this morning and we schooled Buckle Street, Twentyoneblackjack, Madame Fiona, Cul De Poule, Fairmount, Young Phoenix and Cottersrock at home on the grass with Champion Court doing his job well and teaching young Alfie Jordan and at the same time leading some of the younger horses too. Worth his weight in gold.

Richard Davies was in to watch his half brother to Spice Girl on the gallops before joining us to watch Spice Girl school at Jon Trice-Rolph’s with Pomme De Nuit too. Both jumped well and both horses and jockeys benefited from the session as Jon helps the riders a lot too so it is always a very worthwhile session.

I’m viewing horses this afternoon at Cheltenham Racecourse ahead of their Sales after racing tomorrow night so if you are interested in getting involved do give me a call – you could join us this afternoon too if you wished to. I’ll be viewing them tomorrow too before racing and am looking forward to trying to add to our increasing string at the Sale. Gerry Hogan has given me his long-list and between us we work through to devise a short list having seen them all trot up again and given them a thorough look over. We’ve bought some lovely horses from the Cheltenham Sales in the past – the most successful Gerry and I bought was our Grade 1 winner Annacotty and he wasn’t too expensive either so there is often value to be had amongst the crazy prices.

Our latest newsletter was sent out yesterday so do get in touch if you didn’t receive it as it is always well worth a read.
