Twentyoneblackjack was very green yesterday at Worcester and disappointed us as he goes much better than that at home. He seems fine today and obviously the physio was pleased with him and his bloods were good yesterday but we’ll do a post race check up and see if that throws any light on it.
Alex Steedman in this morning for a final ride out with Belinda before their Macmillan Cancer Support Charity Race at York on Saturday. Plenty of banter this morning – both sounding competitive!! Thanks to all of you for continuing to support Belinda – she’s raised over £25,500 and is understandably thrilled. Freddie & Harry are very excited and have been counting down the sleeps!
Hannah Ashton was here yesterday to give Buckle Street his final massage and once-over. She has divided loyalties as her boyfriend is Alex Steedman! We are fortunate also to have the use of Back on Track rugs and other various boots and these are all vital in keeping our horses in top condition.
Two runners tonight at Uttoxeter. Brass Monkey (Andrew Tinkler) has come down in the weights a bit and is back to a competitive mark again. He seems very well at home so we are hoping for a good run. Ask Alice ran quite well on her racecourse debut and we are hoping she will build on that tonight.
Ross Hemming’s Leisure Ride Group team here again today and plenty of progress on the work in and around the yard. The team are also working hard 0 after they’ve ridden out they are steam cleaning and painting the stables and the extended viewing mound has been rolled, re-seeded and now is being watered over the germination sheets.
Ollie Garner and Steve Adams from RSN Stow here earlier this week delivering their Natural Flake Shavings we use and their top qualicy haylage too. It is so convenient that they are so local to us and they offer a top service too.
