Fakenham today with two runners so an early start for Paddy & Sian who have headed there. Ben Buie is seeking a hat trick of wins in a row and has the assistance of Gavin Sheehan in the saddle after his two regular jockeys, Sean Bowen and Sam Twiston-Davies, have headed elsewhere. He’s in good form but hates umbrellas so will be hoping the wind keeps the rain at bay! Hopefully he’ll go close again and give his enthusiastic owners another great day. In the following race Andrew & Louise Jones’ Shinji is also partnered by Gavin Sheehan and, if he builds upon his hurdles start last month and appreciates the extra half mile, should go very close.

We had no runners this weekend but a busy morning on Saturday morning when Herecomeshogan’s owners, The Cotswold Lockdowners, visited to watch him in action on the gallops and to chat to the team over refreshments back at the yard. Great to see them all although we are at a bit of a cross roads with Hogan as he was disappointing last time out and so we had discussions over the next steps if he disappoints again. He’s a lovely horse to have around, is friendly in the stable and a good ride so should be very easy to re-train and therefore re-home which is something we put a lot of work into. If that turns out to be the decision then we’ll ensure he has a super home.

Yesterday, thanks to the team at Completely Motoring in Cheltenham, I took Belinda & the boys to watch the Aston Villa vs Fulham match and we were looked after very well. It was a fun afternoon especially as Villa won 3-1. The boys support the Manchester teams but still appreciate a good game of football and we had great seats.
