Thank you for all my birthday messages – another year older although I still have to be reminded of when my birthday is – just another day and yesterday there was plenty of tractor work to be done so a productive day! Belinda did take me out to The Old Butchers in Stow though and we were joined by Jon & Jack Hughes and had a delicious supper despite missing out on the sold-out Lobsters! We coped!
Work morning and Warren Marston in 1st lot and still quite a few to work. Belinda & Buckle Street completed their final piece of fast work under Warren’s watchful eye and we’ll just wrap him up in cotton wool until Saturday now when they head to York for her Charity race. She’s been asked this morning to hopefully appear on ITV’s Opening Show on Saturday morning so is pretty excited about that. Her fundraising has just past £25,000 and she is thrilled. Still time to sponsor her though if you haven’t already and every single penny is much appreciated.
We also worked Jazzy, Ocean Eleven, Sporty Yankee, Miss Condi, Elzaam 2 year old, Cottersrock and Cut and Run. All the rest did a half speed canter or just cantered. Saturday’s winner Spice Girl just had one canter and seems very pleased with herself!
Our Yard Sponsor Ross Hemming here this morning to discuss the progress on the work we’ve done this week and ensure things are all going to plan and to time too.
We’are in the process of fitting a new wash down box – we’ve raised the ceiling and put heat lamps in and it will be a very useful addition to the yard. Our Electrician Paul Hughes, who is in our Racing Club, is the father of Chris who is currently in the reality TV programme ‘Love Island’ that younger Blog readers may be watching! I’m not sure how you ‘win’ in Love Island but good luck to Chris none the less!
