Martin’s Blog 13th June

Thank you for all the birthday messages – I am still in Ireland having spent yesterday at the Goffs Sales where horses were making staggering prices. Goffs are looking after us superbly and their hospitality has been fantastic and Belinda and I are staying in the gorgeous Killashee House Hotel in Naas where we were joined by our Chairman Jon Hughes and his wife Jack and owner Alan Stickley. A fun supper too at a Tapas Bar in Naas however our Bloodstock Agent Gerry Hogan was still working late at the sales so we ate before him and caught up later.

We saw plenty of horses yesterday and there are a few we like too so let’s hope they go through for an affordable price today…time will tell! Do get in touch if you are interested in getting involved. An exciting day ahead.

Back at home it’s a quiet day for the horses in training just doing a couple of canters. Holidays are over for a few of them including City Never Sleeps and Mister Valentine who are back in work and look superb. Such an exciting time of year.

Mr Mafia trotted up sound yesterday morning and seems in top form following his Worcester win on Monday – I had gone far too early yesterday to check him so was pleased to receive a video from the team at home before they turned him out for the day. What a dude he is and what fun he is giving us all especially John Abernethy and Peter Boggis.
