What a fantastic day of racing yesterday at Aintree. There is such a buzz about the place generated from the moment you step out in the car park. We had two very excited children with us and, along with friend & owner Chris Dee, we met up with Paul Davis, Dave Jones and John Carus to walk the famous course which is always a fantastic start to the day. The boys couldn’t believe the size of the fences and I don’t think they’ll ever forget their first walk around the course.
Great to meet up with so many friends and enjoy a day which was more relaxed with no runners. The weather was kind to us too and it was fantastic to watch inspirational Guy Disney in action over the famous fences in the Foxhunters and thrilled that he completed the course. More great racing there this afternoon but we’ll be watching on tv today.
Busy work morning today with Warren Marston and Andrew Tinkler in. Easter holidays aren’t yet over so Harry Greasby in to ride work and Frankie Kelly in to help too and she had a ride on Champion Court. We worked Back on the Lash, Mr Mafia, Reve, Dr Dunraven, Buckle Street, Primogeniture, Raving Bonkers, Solstice Star, Sporty Yankee, Lord Condi, Young Phoenix, Weyburn, By Sulamani, Enforcement, Ballymountain Boy, Debden Bank, Peeping Penny, Brillare Momento, Matravers, Morning Herald, Oscar World, Pomme De Nuit, By Presenting, Lerichi Belle, Chequered View, Cut and Run, Sugar Storm, Lady Vitesse, Ask Alice and Hartshorne Abbie. All the rest just cantered.
I’ts the busiest we have ever been at this time of year as I don’t want to bottom them on the ground we’ve been experiencing. Looking forward to a very busy late spring with plenty of entries for next week and let’s hope this promised sunny weather arrives!
