Martin’s Blog – 12th July

Thank you for your Anniversary wishes – we hardly saw each other yesterday as it’s still pretty busy here – maybe that’s why we’ve lasted so long!

A good bit of rain yesterday and the grass has definitely benefited from it and it looks a lot greener – more is needed though. The team from yard sponsor Leisure Ride are here again today continuing work on our loop and new schooling strip.

Two runners today on the flat at Lingfield. Whatalove runs over 1m 1f for the first time and she ran well on soft ground at Chepstow two starts ago doing all her best work at the end over 7 furlongs so I hope she’ll be able to step up. John Abernethy and Peter Boggis have so far had 8 runners with me this year and only been out of the first four twice however they are chasing that elusive winner and it would be fantastic if this filly was able to provide them with it today.

Jazzy runs in the following race over nearly 1m 4f and is in good form following a charity race with Travelling Head Girl Issy Mangan on board at Newbury last week where they finished 5th.
