A few visitors popped in yesterday including David Robinson who we are always pleased to see and look forward to his mare coming back into training soon.
Most of the horses were ridden on our new carpet loop this morning so plenty of steady stamina work. They enjoy cantering around there and generally switch off and get into a lovely rhythm. It’s good for the riders’ stamina too!
Towcester today with Ask Alice and Raving Bonkers. Alice is owned by Sarah Turner who also bred her but has been leased to our Racing Club this season. She’s been racing keenly in the past so Andrew Tinkler was keen to try and settle her at the back last time and teach her to race as she must switch off if she is to have a chance of getting home in her races. However she lost a little bit of concentration and was soon tailed off so we are therefore hoping for a better show today as she is better than she showed then.
Raving Bonkers makes his debut for the very enthusiastic What in Heavens Partnership headed by Simon Prowting who is lots of fun. We’ve taken our time with this son of Notnowcato and he’s still needs to grow into his frame but he’s got a lovely attitude, does things nicely at home and we are hopeful that he will enjoy his racecourse debut and run a promising race. Harry Stock takes 7lbs off his back which all helps.
