Taunton bound today with David Parry’s Mahanakhon Power who will hopefully have learnt a lot from his hurdling debut recently where he was pretty green. He’s done plenty more schooling since then and, although he’s obviously up against it with the leading pair in the field, I’m hopeful of a much more promising run today. Sam Twiston-Davies rides.
Most of the horses just having one canter this morning and both Patrick Cowley and Warren Marston in to ride out.
Last night Belinda, Paul Davis and myself had supper with Nigel & Karen McAllen at The Coach & Horses in Longborough and had a really fun night with delicious food too as always. Nigel and Paul were both in this morning and actually they all visited the horses last night before supper too and really enjoyed looking around the yard after evening stables when all was peaceful and the horses were happily tucking into their supper, their hay or just snoozing. It’s a lovely time of the day to wander around and see them all.
All eyes then on Cheltenham for the next three days and more tomorrow about our three runners that head there for the first day. Should be exciting racing and we can’t wait.
