A brilliant day of racing at Cheltenham yesterday and some great winners but a particular well done to David Bridgwater winning with The Conditional – Belinda, myself and David go way back to the Condicote days at The Duke’s and he is one of racing’s good guys and was rightly emotional. He’s now a festival winning jockey and trainer – how many people can say that?! Much deserved.
Thanks to Zara Tindall and the Hemmings’ family for a delicious lunch and fabulous company, lots of fun. Zara’s mare Run A Rig didn’t quite read the script at Sedgefield but it wasn’t her fault – I kick myself for running her there as the track and ground didn’t suit and she showed how gutsy she is to finish 3rd. Trainer error – she’s much better than that and is thankfully A1 this morning. She may head to Cheltenham’s April meeting if she comes out of the race well.
Very much looking forward to another day of excitement and top class racing. Hope to see many more of you back there today. The weather looks perfect once again…
