Martin’s Blog 11th February

Life goes on at the yard whilst we await news of when racing will re-start – hopefully we will hear later tonight and hopefully the BHA will feel that we can crack on again.

With us not on lockdown we aren’t having to restrict movement of horses however we’ve chosen to and no horse has left or entered the yard simply to minimise any further risk. Lucjan fogged the yard today and Foxy continued to take the horses’ temperatures – they are still all within normal limits and we are therefore keeping the horses ticking over and working as normal hoping that racing will soon be back on.

So no visitors to report obviously as people have kindly opted to stay away too. We are sure this is over and above what we should be doing but we are grateful.

This enforced break must be affecting so many people – as well as the bigger industries like bookmakers, racecourses etc, also those who rely solely on racing to pay their rent/mortgages – self employed jockeys and valets etc. So it’s fingers crossed we get the news we hope for tonight.
