Cheltenham welcomes a crowd back today and we head there with Sarasota Star under Rex Dingle in the 3rd race, the Catesby Handicap Hurdle over 2 miles for Jon Hughes and Torben Dal.
He’s won his past two races, both at Carlisle and the latter under Rex Dingle was a conditional jockeys race and on a Sunday. That has allowed him to run again without a penalty and he runs before he has to go up 5lbs for that win tomorrow too. So the first part of the plan worked out – he won on that Sunday and this is the second part! A step up in class and he runs best when fresh but he has a featherweight and we have done very little with him since he won 12 days ago and he does seem fresh and well so fingers crossed he runs another huge race.
Enforcement heads to Bangor for our Racing Club and gives Kai Lenihan his first ride for us. He’s been in regularly and deserves a chance so Enforcement will hopefully run a big race for him on a return to hurdles and dropping back in trip.
Owners David Parry and Matt Capp both in today to see their horses and good to catch up with them both.
Samtara ran a huge race yesterday at Warwick under Patrick Cowley to just be denied going down a neck on the line … another stride or two! But a really good run and a 2nd second of the week for owners Roger & Yvonne Allsop who are delighted with both of their horses. Let’s hope they are rewarded with a winner or two soon. He seems A1 this morning.
