Lovely to have a fun group of owners here this morning and when the sun burnt off the fog it was a beautiful morning. Mike & Mella Wright here to watch their horses and a fun catch up with them last night at The Coach & Horses with Paul Davis & Jon Hughes. Delicious food and brilliant company.
David and Lorraine Maughan here with their nephew & wife and David Parry here too, all here early so they could watch James Best and Ben Godfrey schooling and they stayed here to watch second and third lot too. So a good morning to come and the horses schooled well too. We persuaded Freddie to ride out a couple of lots as well – no doubt riding his shetland third lot felt pretty odd!
We had a fabulous weekend staying with William and Sara Kinsey and their family enjoying their Owners’ Day on Sunday where Big Nasty was undoubtedly the star of the show! He looked a picture and we can’t wait to get him back into training. He’s started pre-training there and will come back when he’s been cantering for a few weeks.
It was good to catch up with lots of his owners who also can’t wait to see him back on the track. Will has a fantastic set up and it was great to have a look at all his mares and foals in the field before we headed home on Monday.
Neil Jakes was here mid morning to meet with Belinda & Paul to discuss our Open Day on Sunday 12th September. It should be a super day so do get in touch if you’d like to come. It’s part of National Racehorse Week and we’ll make it well worth your visit!
