Martin’s Blog 11th April

The weather continues to be lovely which is perfect for the kids on Easter holidays and for all of us enjoying our fantastic spot here at Condicote Stables. Our Sponsor, Leisure Ride Surfaces, are here this week checking and topping up any parts of our carpet gallop they feel need it to ensure it remains in perfect condition.

Work morning this morning and along with Warren Marston we also had Jasean Spraggett in for a couple of lots as she reaches peak fitness for the Charity Race at Cheltenham next week. Belinda rode 3 lots too, one less than yesterday which was the first time she’s ridden 4 racehorses in a morning for quite some time! More comfortable than camels thankfully!

Quite a few owners in this morning including Richard East and Stuart Baikie. Tom Morgan was in to watch the horses work and have a look at our gallop too.

We worked Solstice Star, Any Currency, Cup of Ambition, Ballymountain Boy, Young Phoenix, Overbury gelding, Brillare Momento, Robin Des Pres, Ocean Eleven, Forecast, Brass Monkey, Any Currency, Fairmount and the Multiplex youngster. All the rest cantered. We have plenty of very promising youngsters for sale both outright and into our own well organised partnerships so do get in touch and come and have a look.

Those that have seen the Grand National Winner One For Arthur win his point to point on social media beating Blaklion into third may have noticed the second horse was our very own The Wexfordian. He runs in the first at Exeter today under Andrew Tinkler in a Selling Hurdle and, as both John Abernethy and Peter Boggis, his owners, are able to go today it would be great if he managed to win as well as One For Arthur did on Saturday – albeit in a lower graded race!!
