Martin’s Blog 10th February

Work morning and Sean Bowen, James Best and Warren Marston in to ride work and owners Nigel McAllen, Matt Capp and David Maughan in to watch their horses work too so a fun morning.

It was too cold to work 1st lot (-6 when my Assistant, Foxy, left home) so we worked Redbridge Rambler, Spanish Present, Breizh Alko, Wide To West, Samtara & Bella Ciao and Come on me Babby and Priarie Diamond did a swinging canter.

The weather continues to confuse us with lots of frost this week and racecourses struggling as some have had no rain for over a month – crazy to be thinking of watering in February!

Just one runner this weekend – Shinji at Newbury tomorrow in the bumper. Bought from Roger Varian by Andrew & Louise Jones after winning his sole start – a bumper at Fakenham impressively, he’s up against it tomorrow in a red hot bumper but he’s done nothing wrong since joining us and we will know far more about him after tomorrow. It’s Andrew’s birthday so let’s hope Shinji has read the script!
