Rain! It wasn’t forecast last night but we had a little then and, although showers were forecast today, it has not stopped. We do need it though so we certainly aren’t complaining.
Matthew Baker has been here for much of this morning watching Buckle Street work 1st lot and Cotswold Prince 2nd lot. We also had Warren Marston and Mark Caswell to ride out and we worked Primogeniture, Dr Dunraven, Buckle Street, Oscar World, Matravers, Mister Valentine, Somewhere To Be, Brillare Momento, Forecast, Hartshorne Abbie, Cul De Poule, Raving Bonkers, City Never Sleeps, Lord Condi, Miss Antipova, Enforcement and Lady Vitesse. We have plenty just cantering and some walking and trotting.
The 3 year old Mahler Gelding has settled in and seems to be enjoying life here already and it’s always great to get update videos from Martin Jones of the last few he has there being backed and ridden away. He has a very nice 3 year old By Morozov and also a half brother to our winning bumper horse Back on the Lash and both will be back here in the next week or so to continue their education.
No runners today but one on the flat at Windsor on Sunday – Enforcement runs under Joey Haynes for Jon & Jack Hughes.
Lots of birthdays this month – Happy Birthday today to Kitty King and also my niece Izzy Malcom.
