Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to all my team and supporters – may 2018 be even better than 2017 which was quite a year.

Happy Birthday to all the horses here too. We have two runners today. Weyburn has gone all the way up to Catterick with Ash & Harley for The Gang of Three to run in a Novice Chase under Conor Shoemark. He won last time at Southwell and we are hopeful for another bold show from him.

Thanks to Amy Clarke for coming in early to replace a shoe that Weyburn lost in the field yesterday. Amy works with our Farrier Nick Partridge and he was unfortunately at the Liverpool Horse Show last night when the car park went up in flames and, when I spoke to him last night, he was fearful that his car was one of those burnt out and they were being found emergency accommodation. According to this morning’s news 1400 cars were lost last night but thankfully all humans and equines were safe. So inconvenient though but we are glad that Nick, Lou and their family are safe.

Like Weyburn, Buckle Street also won last time out and he heads to Cheltenham today over hurdles. Last time out he gave Harry Stock, who partners him again today, a winner on his 21st Birthday – it’s Buckle Street’s 5th birthday today and wouldn’t it be good if he won on his birthday too! He’s up against it today – it’s a competitive hurdle on ground probably softer than he would want but he’s in good order and I’m hopeful he give his owners, The Condicote Clan, another great day out.

May 2018 be prosperous and enjoyable for us all.
