Fakenham bound

Ben Buie kicks off proceedings at Fakenham today in the 2 mile chase under Sam Twiston-Davies who has been in the saddle for two of his wins for his fun syndicate. His form figures recently read 332131 and he’s only gone up 3lbs for his latest Leicester win. It’s not surprising his owners describe him as the perfect syndicate horse although he’s not the most reliable (he doesn’t like umbrellas!) you’d not know that from his form figures alone and he’s given them 4 fabulous winning days out too. Let’s hope today all falls right for him and he gives them their 5th. They’ll have a fun day whatever happens though I know!

Brianna Rose is our second runner for Matthew Baker and she returns following a horrible fall at Southwell at the end of June where she broke a small bone in her elbow and we feared the worst. I was on holiday with the family and we waited with baited breath for updates from the racecourse and then the vets. All were superb and she had the best care and it is brilliant to get her back to the track. She’s in rude health and will hopefully run another solid race under Sean Bowen.

Ten Past Midnight (David Bass) and Ambassador (Phillip Armson) run in the finale. TPM didn’t enjoy running over fences on his debut at Southwell last time and Sean Bowen sensibly pulled him up early. He’s had a break since and is on a decent mark and he hopefully will be straight enough to do himself justice. Ambassador ran a solid enough race on the flat recently and will much prefer the decent ground after hating the heavy ground at Leicester last time out and should give our Racing Club another fun day out.
