What a tough performance from Back On The Lash yesterday at Exeter under a great ride from our new Conditional Jockey Patrick Cowley to give him his first winner for us from his second ride.
Back On The Lash isn’t overly big but jumped for fun and simply doesn’t know when he is beaten as he wasn’t going to let anything passed him and eventually all that was needed was hands and heels after the last. Thrilled for owners Mark Boothright, Pete Deffains and Graham Lovett , none could be there yesterday but they would all have been partying afterwards I’m sure! Great to get Paddy off the mark too and I’m not sure who else was buzzing more afterwards – my eldest son Freddie who adores Lash and rode him out in the summer or Beth Whittle who rides him out every day. Well done to all the team. Our 9th winner of the season.
Raving Bonkers also ran a good race, jumping well in ground that had just started to go against him with all the rain that we had, to finish 4th. Paddy rode him too and is also sure we will find an opportunity for him to get his head in front soon.
Ross Hemming and Tyrone Hanlon both in this morning to watch their horses on the gallops and Paul Davis and Jon Hughes in too.
